The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is a one-year, full-time postgraduate teaching qualification in England and Wales. It is designed to prepare graduates for a career in teaching in secondary schools. The PGCE is a popular route into teaching, and there are many different providers offering the course.
To apply for the PGCE, you will need to have a bachelor’s degree in any subject. You will also need to have achieved at least a grade C in GCSE English and mathematics. Some providers may also require you to have some experience of working with children or young people.
