A Labour Market Opinion (LMO) is a document issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) that allows an employer to hire a foreign worker when no qualified Canadian or permanent resident is available to fill the position. An LMO is required for all employers who wish to hire foreign workers, with the exception of those who are exempt under the International Mobility Program (IMP).
There are a number of benefits to obtaining an LMO, including:
– It allows employers to access a wider pool of candidates, which can help them to find the best possible fit for their organization.
– It can help employers to save time and money by reducing the need to recruit and train Canadian or permanent resident workers.
– It can help employers to improve their diversity and inclusion efforts by bringing in workers from different backgrounds and cultures.
